NPMS: Covid-19 Update from the Scheme

Following the updated Government guidance issued on 23rd March in light of the current Covid-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic. NPMS wishes to ensure that our guidance to volunteers and supporters is clear and reinforces guidance issued by the government. Your health, and the health of those close to you, is of upmost priority.  

 

NPMS 2020 Tweet meet - You are invited to our online event!

The National Plant Monitoring Scheme is holding a Tweet Meet event online to celebrate and discuss the work of the scheme. The event on Friday 20th of March will celebrate the support from our stakeholders and contributors, the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and providing feedback on their data. You are very welcome to follow and join in!

Data entry 2018

Thank you so much to everyone who has entered their NPMS data for 2018!

We have extended the deadline to the end of October -- please do still take the time to enter the data when you can -- every record counts, helping us to provide an accurate picture of the ongoing change in our coutryside.

Please get in contact if you miss the deadline, your data can still be incorporated into the NPMS database.

NPMS hits its stride in Northern Ireland

Our Northern Irish collaborators at CEDaR and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency have been very busy promoting the scheme over the past few years. The uptake has really soared in that time, and we have just released a new tranche of squares to keep up with demand!

Making plants count on the Defence Estate

Turn to page 46 of the latest issue of Sanctuary magazine to read about how the NPMS is being carried out on the Defence Estates. With 36 overlapping monads matching up volunteers with the estates conservation groups is a vital way to ensure these plots are not missed.
